The Dolby Atmos theater here used to be the best in the city. Every seat is good, even the front row. Quality control, however, is no longer consistent like it used to be which is a shame. Last movie I saw, they left the blue side lights on which illuminated the screen. Amc quality control is notoriously awful in this city, but the Lincoln Sq IMAX and then these Dolby theaters have been the only exception. I’m not gonna mess with this particular AMC again.Update: Decided to give the theater another chance. This time their Prime theater. Yet again, no quality control. Image was not formatted to vertically fill the screen, so there was an obvious border of 40 inches around the top and bottom. AMC please hire QC people.Update 2: went to another Prime showing a year later, hoping that maybe they have gotten better… and the movie was not playing anything from the center-right speaker. The AMC employee who said they would check on it didn’t change a thing. I think I am done with AMC now, at least the times sq one. I recommend people stick to other theaters.

The seats there are old and there was barely any space to stretch out my legs comfortably. It’s like sitting on a plane.It’s also a long trek when I wanted to leave during the movie to grab more popcorns. I had to wait for the elevator since that’s the only way down at the theater levels above the concession stand. It’s quite a wait for the elevator when movie was in session.Other the pro side, it’s so nice of them to offer Spanish subtitle showings regularly to new releases. We went for that reason as my boyfriend speaks Spanish only. But given the drawback, I think he might just prefer our local theater where he can recline the seats completely.
